President Donald Trump's campaign adviser and daughter-in-law Lara Trump tore into former Vice President Joe Biden after his string of Super Tuesday wins Wednesday, stating that she questions his "cognitive function" after gaffes he's made on the campaign trail.
"I'm supposed to be rooting against Joe Biden," Trump told Fox News' "America's Newsroom." "Every time he takes the stage, I feel nervous that he is not going to be able to coherently string a sentence together. If I feel that way I think Democrat voters feel very nervous about him."
She also questioned Biden's ability to run the country if he's elected.
"Who would be running the country if this individual is not showing he is functioning with all gears moving here?" said Trump, who is married to the president's son, Eric. "I think it's fair to ask what is going on. He called it 'Super Thursday' and forgets where he is."
The president has tagged Biden with the nickname "Sleepy Joe" and has often ridiculed him on Twitter, including tweeting a Fox News-produced video of the former vice president's misstatements.
Lara Trump commented Wednesday that Democrats do not have a good choice for their nominee, because the decision lies between Sen. Bernie Sanders, a "socialist, communist sympathizer," or Biden, "where a lot of people question his cognitive function."
She added that she does not think there is any game if Biden is nominated, as Trump will win "very easily," but no matter which candidate wins the nomination, they are "focused on beating Donald Trump and his results," including 7 million new jobs, low unemployment and more.
"All these things Americans care about are versus 'I'm going to beat Donald Trump,'" she said. "Not a great platform."
