Sixty-six percent of Americans are not willing to travel on a plane due to the coronavirus outbreak, a new Harris poll reveals.
The poll, provided to Axios, was taken March 17-18. The same poll taken March 14-15 showed 61% were unwilling to fly.
Here are how the results break down:
- 58% of Americans are now unwilling to go to the gym. Just days earlier 44% would not go.
- 56% say they are unwilling to go to a restaurant or bar, compared to 37% who had said earlier they would not go.
- 48% say they are not willing to go to church, compared to 38% who were unwilling to go days earlier.
- 42% are unwilling to go to their local coffee shop. Earlier 37% said they were not willing to go.
- 17% are not willing to go the grocery store, compared to 14% who said days earlier they would not go.
Axios noted the results show Americans are taking the outbreak seriously, but are losing their sense of invulnerability.
The polls surveyed a total of 4,069 people. A margin of error was not provided.
