At least five people who attended the recent American Israeli Public Affairs Committee meeting in Washington, D.C., have reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus.

The Cleveland Jewish News reported that an Ohio man, who attended the AIPAC meeting, has now tested positive for the virus. The man works at the Jewish Education Center of Cleveland, according to the report.

And a report by Toronto.com quoted Michael Levitt, a member of the Canadian parliament, as saying: “I have been informed that an attendee at the AIPAC conference from Toronto tested positive for the COVID-19 virus,” his statement reads

According to The Times of Israel, AIPAC had said Friday that two people form New York, who attended the conference, already had tested positive. The following day, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health said a local resident, who had also attended the conference, had tested positive.

Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said officials will be interviewing those infected to determine who they were in contact with during the conference.

The newspaper noted the AIPAC conference routinely attracts congressional members and their staffers, as well as top government officials, including this year Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
