Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's campaign shoes are now part of fashion history.

The 29-year-old New York Congresswoman-elect loaned her first pair of shoes she wore on the campaign trail to the Cornell Costume & Textile Collection for the exhibition "Women Empowered: Fashions from the Frontline," on display Dec. 6 through March 3, 2019.

The exhibit calls on women to submit clothing items that have empowered them.

Ocasio-Cortez, the youngest woman elected to Congress, became a national name after defeating incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley, D-N.Y., in the primary. She defeated Republican challenger Anthony Pappas by a vote of 78.9 to 13.1 percent.

She shared a photo of her brown worn-out shoes in a picture on Twitter earlier this year, and with it a note she "knocked doors until rainwater came through" her soles.

"Respect the hustle. We won bc we out-worked the competition. Period," she added.

The Cornell Costume Collection said Ocasio-Cortez's shoes "represent the hard work, dedication, determination, and commitment of the youngest woman ever elected to Congress."

"We can't think of a better example of fashion from the frontline."
