New Delhi: Diversified natural resources company Vedanta on Wednesday announced two senior level appointments to get itself ready for the next phase of growth post-Covid, with the focus on building domestic capacity.
Jitendra Kumar Dadoo who retired in the rank of Secretary to the Government of India in December, 2017 has been appointed as a Senior Advisor in the company while Prakash Kumar Singh, former Chairman and Managing director of Steel Authority of India Limited, has joined Vedanta's Electrosteel Steels Limited (ESL) as President - Growth Projects.
Dadoo joins the Advisory Board at Vedanta which includes former Foreign Secretary, Ranjan Mathai, former Economic Affairs Secretary, R. Gopalan and former Petroleum and Natural Gas Secretary, Saurabh Chandra.
The new appointments will add strength to the company and help it work towards the goal of bringing about self sufficiency to the country in the metals and mining segment under the government's 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' programme. Over 50 per cent of India's imports are in the natural resources sector.
