New Delhi: In a big relief for India, 12000 Indians who were stuck in the capital city of Kyiv have been safely rescued out of Ukraine. Indian foreign secretary Harsh Shringla briefed the media about the ongoing Operation Ganga. The briefing was delayed by an hour due to a high level meeting by Prime minister Narendra Modi.

Evacuation from Kharkiv is the next top priority. Around 8000 Indians are stuck in East Ukraine and hiding in different shelters. Kharkiv is witnessing heavy bombardment today from the Russian forces.

26 flights in the next 3 days will evacuate Indians from Ukraine's neighbouring countries. IAF C-17 aircraft will leave from India at 4am on Wednesday morning.
