Surat: A Surat Court has ordered death sentence for the accused in the rape and murder of a 2-year-old girl. The 35-year-old accused has been sentenced within 28 days of chargesheet by the court. This is the third case in the district where the accused is sentenced within a month.
The court convicted 35-year-old accused Guddu Yadav within 28 of the chargesheet being filed and announced the quantum of sentence on Tuesday.
The POCSO Court had earlier completed the hearing within 5 days and examined 45 witnesses.
Surat Police had earlier filed a 264-page chargesheet on November 15 within 7 days of convict's arrest.
Police examined footage of over 500 CCTV cameras and a team of 200 cops were deployed earlier when the minor's kidnapping was reported.
