Amid President Donald Trump's ripping bias of media polls – and a Quinnipiac Poll giving former Vice President Joe Biden a 9-point lead – the St. Pete Polls has the hypothetical 2020 president race as a statistical dead heat, according to FloridaPolitics.com.

Biden drew 47.3% of likely Florida general election voters to President Trump's 46.8%, a 0.5-point margin well covered by the 1.8 percentage point margin of error and the 5.9% of those undecided, according to the poll.

The poll sample was 48% Republican and 44% Democrat.

A positive sign for President Trump was among Hispanic voters in Florida, which gave him over 40% support after he netted just 33% nationwide in 2016, per the report.

Biden, who served as former President Barack Obama's vice president from 2009-2017, won over 90% of the African-American vote, however.

Other findings from the St. Pete Polls:

  • President Trump's approval rating was 48.7%.
  • 47.3% disapproved.
  • Biden led the president 49% to 45% among Florida voters 50-69.
  • But President Trump led by 10 points (52%-42%) among Florida voters aged 70 and older.

St. Pete Polls surveyed 3,095 likely Florida general election voters between June 15-16 and the plus or minus 1.8 percentage point margin of error.
