Fazilka: PM Modi today attacked Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi over his 'UP Bihar ke Bhaiyye' remark. He even attacked Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi for her supporting it.

"Congress always pits people of one region against others so that their car keeps on moving." Congress made the statement yesterday and their 'Delhi family' was clapping standing beside Channi. Who are they insulting? There won't be a single village in Punjab where our brothers and sisters from UP and Bihar are not working." said PM Modi.

"I want to ask these leaders where was saint Ravidas born? He was born in Banaras (Kashi), Uttar Pradesh and you say you won't let 'UP ke bhaiyyo' enter Punjab. Will you remove his name from Punjab? What is this language? I want to ask where Guru Gobind Singh ji was born? He was born in Patna Sahib, Bihar and you say you will not let Biharis enter Punjab? Do you want to insult Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji?," he added.

Punjab CM Channi in a roadshow in Punjab yesterday made a controversial statement on people from UP and Bihar. "Bhaiyas from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Delhi cannot come here and rule. We will not allow UP bhaiyye to stray into Punjab," Mr. Channi said.

Priyanka Gandhi was seen smiling and clapping beside him.
