Thirty-two percent of potential Democratic primary voters favor former Vice President Joe Biden, a new Morning Consult poll reveals.
The poll was taken after the second Democratic debates. Following the first round of debates, Biden had been favored by 33%.
Morning Consult noted that the latest round of debates did little to change the minds of likely primary voters when it came to other candidates, as well.
Here are the poll results, released Friday, for the other top candidates:
- 18% for Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. Following the first round of debates, Sanders had polled 19%.
- 15% for Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. She had polled 12% after the first debates.
- 10% for Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif. Following the first round of debates, Harris had polled 12%.
- 6% for South Bend Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg. He had polled 6% after the first debates.
The latest poll, conducted Aug. 1, surveyed 2,419 registered voters who indicated they may vote in the Democratic primary or caucus in their state. The margin of error is plus or minus 2 percentage points.
